Apple iPad Mini And New Mac Computers: Announcement Today in San Jose

Apple is kicking off what is going to be a very busy week in consumer technology today with an event at the California Theatre in San Jose.

The company sent out invitation to the media event last week teasing that it had “a little more to show” and is expected to announce a smaller version of its iPad at the event. People expect the event to be all about the rumoured and highly anticipated iPad mini.

Rumors of an iPad Mini have circulated for months now. According to the Wall Street Journal, the smaller iPad went into mass production last month. It has been reported that the tablet will have a 7.85-inch screen, 3G and 4G connectivity, run iOS 6, and have the new Lightning dock connector.

The move to launch a smaller iPad is now expected, but it hasn’t always been. Steve Jobs once said that the 7-inch tablet market was “dead on arrival.” However, an internal Apple email revealed in the Apple v. Samsung trial revealed that Jobs had warmed up to the idea before his death.

As others have seen the 7-inch tablet size be extremely successful, analysts are not surprised by Apple’s move. “When it comes to tablets one size does not fit all. It would not surprise me of Apple, having defined the tablet market decided there was room in the line for something between an iPod touch and iPad,” Michael Gartenberg, Gartner Research Director, told ABC News. “Of course, with Apple it’s all about the details of the experience so we’ll just have to see what it is they announce.”

What they will announce is still a mystery as with any Apple event. However, there are additional reports that the smaller iPad will be joined by new Mac computers. Again according to 9to5 mac and AllThingsD, Apple will release a new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, which would join the 15-inch verion on the market right now. The same site claims Apple will also release a new Mac Mini desktop.

Of course, Apple isn’t the only company planning to release a number of computers this week. Microsoft’s Windows 8 operating system for laptops, tablets, and desktops launches this coming Friday, Oct. 26. Along with Microsoft’s own surface tablet, hundreds of computers from Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, and others are expected to launch with the new touch-friendly software.

Our fingers are crossed as we await the rumoured new iPad Mini expected to look so much like the the new iPhone 5.

Adele Gives Birth To A Baby Boy

Reports say that the 24-year-old singer, Adele and partner Simon Konecki welcomed their child on Friday night.

She is said to be ‘ecstatic’ by the baby boy’s arrival.

A source was quoted as saying: “Adele and Simon are ecstatic at their new arrival.

“She was over the moon that they were expecting their first child together.”

However, her spokesman has declined comments on the matter. He said of Friday night’s reported birth: “We are not releasing a statement at this time. No comment.”

You’d recall Adele announced her pregnancy back in June, writing on her official blog: “I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together.

“I wanted you to hear the news direct from me; obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx’

Adele and Simon started dating last summer and moved in together earlier this year. Simon also has a five-year-old daughter with his ex-wife Clary Fisher.

She has said of Simon in the past: “He looks after me. I don’t think I’d have got through the recovery from surgery if not for him.”

If the reports are anything to go by, we should be expecting an official statement from Adele soon. She’s probably too excited with the baby’s arrival that she forgot she likes to break her news first. Congratulations!

Robert Sylvester Kelly, popularly known as R. Kelly has revealed the release date for the brand new episodes of his Trapped In The Closet series titled Trapped In The Closet: The Next Instalment. Kelly told TIME that 20 new video chapters of the popular series will arrive the day after thanksgiving.

“We just shot 20 chapters. They’ll be coming out the day after Thanksgiving. Trapped in the Closet is forever. I’ve got like a hundred chapters to come.”

Trapped in the Closet, a series of music videos by R. Kelly that defined the ‘hip-hopera’ genre is to return after five years.

Kelly released the first 12 chapters of Trapped in the Closet in 2005. He went on to release chapter 13-22 in 2007. He released Trapped in the Closet (The Big Package) chapter 1-22 in 2007.

R. Kelly plays Sylvester in the series, a man who in the first episode cheats on his wife, Gwendolyn, with a woman named Cathy. Cathy pushes him into a closet, setting off a chain of reactions that rely mostly on the cast’s inability to stay faithful to each other.

IFC, the US Cable channel that will air 20 new episodes of the series has promised that Rufus, Cathy, Gwendolyn, Bridget, Big man Rosie the Nosy Neighbour, Twan and Pimp Lucius will be back for the new instalments.

Dine And Never Die: World’s First Underwater Restaurant

I’ve seen pictures and heard of several great restaurants. I used to want no better dining experience than that of the Al Muntaha(meaning ‘highest’ or ‘ultimate’) restaurant sitting atop Burj Al Arab, standing on an artificial island, offering a view of Dubai with prices of rooms at the hotel varying from approximately $11,000 to $45,000 per night. It used to be my dinning priority once I made my first billion, but that has changed with my new finding.

Have you ever imagined dinning under water? What better dining experience can anyone have? Check out the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant in the Maldives and let it wow you if nothing does.

Situated sixteen feet under water, the establishment offers up 180-degree views of the sea life with its Western-Madivian fusion cuisine for fourteen lucky guests at a time. As you might imagine, reservations are strongly encouraged, though children under the age of twelve are not.

There is more to it than just dinning, as the space can also be transformed into a bedroom upon special request, though you can bet that cost you CashMoney’s cash.  Dining in such places could be very awesome, you know. It makes you feel immortal, like you can live forever once you dine there.

5 Nollywood Stars Who Can Really Sing

We made a list of five Nollywood stars that flopped in music following Tonto Dike’s singles flop. The same fans that saw the flops noted that some Nollywood stars took their talents into the music industry. These Nollywood stars might have done so well, but their fans believe they did well to hold their own in the competitive Nigerian music industry.

  1. Gabriel Afolayan: Although we know acting runs in their blood, as their father was one  of the pioneers of the movie industry in Nigeria, no one knew how talented the youngest of the Afolayans in Nollywood  was until he stepped out of his brothers’ shadows. Television series, Super Story was one of the platforms for Gabriel’s rise to fame. We all know his elder brother, Kunle Afolayan whose directing skills has won him international honours, but Gabriel is kind of a different mould. History has it that their late father Ade Love as he was fondly called wasn’t only into acting, but he was also a good singer. Gabriel brought back the voice in the family with his single, ‘Kokoro Ife (Love Bug)’. You gotta love that song!
  2.  Omotola Jalade Ekeinde: Yeah, you are right; Gabriel was my choice, but the social media peeps said they love Omotola Jalade Ekeinde. She did more than drop singles, she dropped an album, and some folks on social media said they are still in love with her songs years after the album dropped.’ Gba’ and ‘Honey Boy’ were the major picks though, but hardly would you see a bad comment about Omotola’s music. How does she do that? She wows us in movies and yet sings well? Fans seem to love your songs. Maybe it’s time you dropped something else to help your fans feel again, how a Nollywood diva sings.
  3. Segun Arinze: Seriously fans think Segun is one of the best Nollywood has to offer Nigeria’s music industry. The boss has been called on by his fans to drop something else. In fact, a lot fans think Segun has potentials for hits.
  4.  Mr Ibu: He’s a comedian. What do you expect? He makes them laugh even in his songs, and they love him. They think John Okafor could continue singing and not bore them.
  5. Nkem Owoh: Not too good, not too bad they say, but his fans believe he can survive in Nigeria’s music industry.

Who else belong on this list? Add them in your comment, and remove those you think don’t deserve to be there. Make sure you state your reasons; you can’t afford to get their fans angry.
